ποΈ First, Arkipel
Arkipel builds products that get people moving outside. Relive turns your ride, run or hike into a video you actually want to share. JOIN is a training coach for cyclists. REN does the same for runners. Kunu helps golfers understand their swing and fix it faster. Together they reach millions of people around the world who ride, run, hike and play.
We are a team of ~35 people across 18 nationalities. Small teams, big products, no layers of management between an idea and the people it reaches. We build things we are genuinely proud of, and we move fast because we can.
We believe the product is only half of what makes a brand win. Anyone can attempt to copy a training algorithm. Almost no one can copy the storytelling, the content and the community around it. It is what sets our brands apart, and we are doubling down on it.
That is where you come in.
π¬ Arkipel Studio: in at the very start
The best content gets made from inside a brand: by people who use the products, know the sports and can jump on a moment the day it happens. So we are building Arkipel Studio: a small, sharp media team at the heart of the company, creating content and running campaigns for all Arkipel brands.
You will be one of its first hires. That means real influence on how the studio works, what it makes and what it feels like. You will not inherit a playbook; you will help write it.
The studio starts with three people. We are hiring two content creators, so you will have a creative partner from day one, and a performance marketer (paid social, Google, Apple Search Ads) in parallel.
π‘ What you'll actually do
- Shoot and edit video and photo for organic social and paid ads, across Relive, JOIN, REN and Kunu, in English and Dutch.
- Own the content calendar: recurring reel formats, campaign creative and the evergreen library. You run it, Jim keeps you sharp.
- Be fast and reactive. In-house means we can make content the way creators do: show up at a race on Saturday, interview riders, post it that evening. That loop is exactly why this role exists.
- Turn a rough brief, or no brief at all, into finished content. You ideate, shoot, edit and ship. The whole chain is yours.
- Work with your own kit. You get a full production setup: camera, lenses, gimbal, audio, lighting and an editing MacBook. Tell us what you need and we will buy it.
π Who thrives in this role
- You live in the world of sport and outdoor content: cycling, running, endurance, golf, or the creator scene around it.
- You have a portfolio of things you made: a demo reel, a personal channel, freelance work. We care far more about what you have shot and cut than about job titles or years.
- You are comfortable behind the camera and in the timeline. Not a shoot-only or edit-only specialist.
- You know the difference between content that stops a scroll and content that converts, and you can switch gears between the two.
- You bring your own ideas and run with them. Ownership and initiative are the whole profile here.
π Who probably won't
- Someone who needs a detailed, fully specified brief before they can start.
- Someone happiest doing slow, highly polished productions rather than fast, native social content.
- Someone who wants to hand half the production process to somebody else.
π The practical side
π°οΈ Hours and location: 32 hours per week (0.8 FTE). This role lives at our Amsterdam office: the gear is there, the teams you film sit there, and that is where most of your week happens. You are on location when the story is there. Arkipel as a whole is a mix of remote, hybrid and office-based people; the studio is the office-based end of that. You are a native Dutch speaker with excellent English.
π₯ Your gear: A full production kit plus a MacBook that suits the job
π Team gatherings: Company-wide retreat and team offsites throughout the year
π Holidays: 20 vacation days (at 32 hours/week), on top of local bank holidays
π Learning: Annual β¬1,000 learning budget
π Options: Stock appreciation rights (SAR) plan that kicks in after one year
π£ Family friendly: Parent-friendly working environment
π Arkipel gear: Epic swag, obviously
π° The typical annual compensation for this role ranges from β¬36,000 to β¬48,000 based on 32 hours, including 8% holiday allowance. Salary depends on experience and expertise; don't let the range stop you from applying.
