Internship Description: Local SEO and Business Development Associate (6 Months)
This is a dynamic, 6-month internship at GMBapi.com, a leading software platform for managing and optimising Google Business Profiles (GBP) at scale. You will work closely with our sales and client success teams, gaining hands-on experience in business development, international customer engagement, and advanced Local SEO strategies.
Key Responsibilities
As a Local SEO and Business Development Associate, you will be integral to the growth and success of our platform by focusing on three core areas:
- New Agency Customer Acquisition (Sales Focus):
- Research and identify potential new agency customers (Local SEO firms, digital marketing agencies, and multi-location business consultants) who would benefit from managing their clients' GBP listings on the GMBapi.com platform.
- Initiate outbound contact (via email, LinkedIn, or phone) to introduce the GMBapi.com platform and schedule product demonstrations.
- Support the sales team in preparing materials and following up with qualified leads.
- Trial User Re-engagement (CRM/Retention Focus):
- Analyse data on users who previously signed up for a free trial but did not convert to a paid subscription.
- Develop and execute personalised re-engagement campaigns to understand their needs, address any concerns, and highlight new product features.
- Collect feedback to help improve the trial-to-conversion process.
- Client Local Visibility Optimisation (SEO/Product Focus):
- Assist the client success team in providing support and strategic advice to existing customers.
- Learn to use the GMBapi.com platform to perform Local SEO audits for client GBP listings (focusing on posting, review management, and citation consistency).
- Help clients understand and implement best practices to improve their local ranking and overall conversion rates from Google Search and Maps.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) is a must.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and persuasive demeanour.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach and a strong desire to learn about software-as-a-service (SaaS) and Local SEO.
Highly Desired Skills (Major Advantage)
Fluency or professional working proficiency in any of the following languages will be a significant advantage, as it will allow you to engage with our international customer base:
- German
- Dutch
- Bahasa (Indonesian/Malaysian)
- Spanish
- Japanese
- Portuguese
